Tell us about your favourite European sunshine break

At this time of year, with the long UK winter stretching out before us, thoughts often turn to sunnier climes and future holidays. We’d love to know where you’ve escaped to in Europe for some sun, come spring or summer. We’re looking for less-known, off-the-beaten-track ideas – beach resorts far from the tourist throngs, family-friendly hotels right on the coast, unsung seaside towns … Tell us where it is and why you love it for your chance to win a £200 Coolstays voucher.

If you have a relevant photo, do send it in – but it’s your words that will be judged for the competition.

Keep your tip to about 100 words

The best tip of the week, chosen by Tom Hall of Lonely Planet, will win a £200 voucher to stay at a Coolstays property – the company has more than 3,000 worldwide. The best tips will appear in the Guardian Travel section and website.

We’re sorry, but for legal reasons you must be a UK resident to enter this competition.

The competition closes on 18 December at 9am
