Telangana exemplifies spirit of federalism, says Governor
Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on Sunday said that the people’s government led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy had maintained cordial and constructive relations with the Centre, exemplifying the true spirit of federalism enshrined in the Constitution.
The Governor said that the state government’s commitment to respecting constitutional institutions was resolute and unshakable. He was speaking at the official Republic Day celebration at Parade Ground in Secunderabad, after unfurling the National Flag. The Governor also presented awards to police officials for meritorious performance.
“Upholding the principles of liberty, thought, and expression enshrined in our Constitution. These initiatives have reinforced the trust of the people in their government, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are prioritised.”
“Together, we can build a Telangana that sets an example for the entire nation. As we look ahead, the government reaffirms its commitment to a future that upholds the highest ideals of our Constitution. With every step forward, we will ensure that liberty, equality, and justice remain at the heart of our governance, guiding Telangana towards greater prosperity and harmony,” the Governor said.
By fostering a favourable environment for business and innovation, the Governor said the state continued to attract global attention as a leader in industrial excellence. The state has become the hub of global capacity centres (GCCs) in information technology and pharma industries under the leadership of Revanth Reddy, the Governor said.
“Our government is also embarking on an ambitious vision for Telangana’s future,” the government said and noted plans for Future City, which aims to position Telangana as a global hub for technology and innovation, and the Artificial Intelligence (AI) City. On the infrastructure front, he mentioned the elevated expressways in the city and the Regional Ring Road.
He also noted the Musi River Rejuvenation Project which he said would transforming it into a vibrant urban space with enhanced ecological balance and recreational facilities. The Governor also noted the four welfare schemes that the government was launching: Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Atmiya Bharosa Indramma Indlu and ration cards.
