Roughriders lose WR Ajou Ajou to NFL opportunity

On Wednesday afternoon, the CFL club announced the release of Canadian receiver Ajou Ajou to allow the 23-year-old to pursue an opportunity south of the border.
TSN and 3DownNation are reporting Ajou is set to sign with the Indianapolis Colts. It’s the second player the Riders have released this off-season due to an NFL opportunity with the other being left tackle Trevor Reid.

After being drafted by the Riders in the seventh round, 59th overall, in the 2024 CFL Draft, Ajou suited up for 12 games in his rookie season, making 20 catches for 307 yards and two touchdowns. In Week 7, the 6-foot-2, 211-pounder had a 110-yard breakout performance against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Prior to joining the Riders, the Brooks, Alta. product was a highly touted prospect who began his college career at Clemson before moving on to South Florida and then Garden City Community College.
