The IIFA Awards 2025 was held in Jaipur on Sunday. A lot of talented actors took home the trophy, with some new actors also getting honoured. For the award show, many top Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahid Kapoor, Karan Johar, Rekha and others were present. This year, Laapataa Ladies actress Nitanshi Goel won the Best Actress Award.
Nitanshi Goel played Phool Kumari in Kiran Rao’s 2024 film, Laapataa Ladies. Goel made her debut in Rao’s film, which received a lot of praise. The actress left behind Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Shraddha Kapoor and won the IIFA Best Actress award. While giving her acceptance speech, Nitanshi was overwhelmed and couldn’t control her tears.
In an interview with ANI, Nitanshi said. “I wasn’t expecting this. I was hoping Laapataa Ladies would win big, but I didn’t think I would win myself. The other nominees were incredible, and I’m a huge fan of all of them. I’m truly overwhelmed by the love I’ve received.”
Further in the same interview, Nitanshi Goel shared, “It’s become a thing now. Honestly, I couldn’t stop crying because winning this award is a dream come true for every actor, and it’s finally come true for me. I’m just so grateful. The first thing I did was cry and try to put together a speech because I couldn’t believe it was happening. Then I gave my mom a big hug and a huge hug to Kiran ma’am. It was all just happy tears.” Nitanshi’s Laapataa Ladies co-star Pratibha Ranta won the Best Debut (Female) award.
