Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 on track to become the second-biggest Hindi opener of 2024, surpassing Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 – Times of India
The film has generated immense buzz nationwide, particularly in the Hindi-speaking market, where it has the potential to set new benchmarks. Trade analysts are optimistic about its performance, with distributor Anil Thadani reportedly acquiring the Hindi distribution rights for a staggering Rs 200 crore in North India. The first installment of the franchise earned Rs 106 crore from its Hindi version in 2021, setting a solid foundation for its sequel.

According to Sacnilk, Pushpa 2 has already garnered Rs37.30 crore from its Hindi version, surpassing the opening-day collections of Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter (₹22.50 crore) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 (₹35.50 crore).
Currently, Pushpa 2 trails only two Hindi films: Singham Again (Rs 43.50 crore) and Stree 2 (Rs 51.80 crore). On the other hand, it’s poised to overtake Ajay Devgn’s Singham Again before the end of the day, breaking the record set by Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 might be a tougher challenge.
Remarkably, the Allu Arjun-starrer is also set to surpass the opening-day record of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹41 crore) in the Hindi market, becoming the highest Day 1 Hindi grosser for a Telugu film. However, the overall Day 1 record still belongs to Yash’s KGF 2, which minted ₹53.95 crore in Hindi.
Additionally, Pushpa 2 has already outperformed other notable South Indian films like RRR( Rs 20.07) and Kalki 2898 AD ( Rs 22.50) in the Hindi belt, cementing its place as a massive box office contender.
The film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Jagapathi Babu, and Prakash Raj in leading roles.
